The NEA just completed its annual tribute of Independence Day. There were emotional and truly moving readings of speeches originally delivered by Martin Luther King, jr., Abraham Lincoln, Barbara Jordan, Harvey Milk, Chief Joseph, Barack Obama and Cesar Chavez.

The celebration ended with NEA Executive Director John Wilson asking all of the student members of the NEA and members who are under 30 to join the All-NEA Choir on stage for one last song-- Mariah Carey's Hero.
