Bipartisan Pessimism

No one thinks the governor can pull off an agreement.

Democratic Leader David Lujan:

"What is the point of calling a special session if there's no agreement and nothing has changed -- and nothing will probably change between now and Monday," House Minority Leader David Lujan, a Democrat from Phoenix, said last week.


Republican state treasurer Dean Martin:

"The votes weren't there last week, and the votes haven't changed. It's the same people they're calling back. I don't see this thing [1 cent sales tax increase] passing."
